Lasik is a surgery performed on cornea of the eyes using computer controlled laser beams to cure eye defects. During Lasik eye surgery a laser keratome or a high precision blade is used to cut a flap in the cornea. The flap will not be fully cut-ff. A small portion of the flap will be remaining which works as a hinge when the flap is folded back to expose the middle section of the cornea. This area of the eye is called stroma. Precision laser beam is used to alter the shape of the cornea at this area to cure the eye defect. This is done by vaporizing some part of the cornea using the laser. After this procedure the flap which is cut initially is placed back to the original condition.
Here is a clip from a real lasik surgery video which shows the whole procedure I explained above.
We will be bringing more details and information about lasik eye surgery during the coming days.
